It Doesn’t Change God

“…let us draw near…” (Hebrews 10:22)

We are in a new series at Grace Church called The Practices of an Apprentice of Jesus. This Sunday will be the fourth sermon, on the practice of prayer. When we were discussing prayer at staff meeting yesterday, this quote came up, from an old, dead guy. So good.

I pray because I can’t help myself.
I pray because I’m helpless.
I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping.

It doesn’t change God, it changes me.

~ C.S. Lewis
