confession and pardon

unburden and receive…

confess your sins to our Father:

We have great reason, O Father, to be humbled before you,
on account of the coldness and insensibility of our hearts,
the disorder and irregularity of our lives,
and the prevalence of worldly affections within us.
Too often have we indulged the tempers which we ought to have subdued, and have left our duty unperformed.

O Father, be merciful to us for you Son Jesus Christ’s sake.
Produce in us repentance, and a lively faith in that Savior who has died for our sins, and risen again for our justification.
Yes, and very amen, in Jesus’ name.
Henry Thornton

receive these words of comfort from our Father:

For while we were still helpless, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. For rarely will someone die for a just person—though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:6-8, CSB
