a new year’s day prayer

we humbly plead with you….

Ephesians 2:8-10

For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.

O Immortal, magnificent, and Triune GOD,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
who inhabits eternity,
and have brought your children and servants to the beginning of another year —

Pardon, we humbly plead with you,
all our sins in the past,
and bless to us this New Year,
and graciously abide with us all the days and years of our life;
through Jesus, who is our Messiah and Master;
so that we might make one and only one resolution in this new year:
to abandon ourselves as fully as we can to taking one step closer to Jesus,
and walking in the good works you have prepared for us to do, in 2023, and beyond.

Yes, and very amen, in Jesus’ happy new year producing Name!
