Sunrise Supplications

Heavily inspired by the prayer Jesus gave us.

Our Father in the heavenly realms,

I’m so grateful that your Son, Jesus, made it clear when he taught us about talking with you, that you know the things we need before we even ask you this morning. Which means you know some things we need that we don’t even know we need! Please help us to respond with a calm heart and peaceful mind — right now — because you’ve just now reminded us of that truth.

Father, may your name be honored as holy today.

And may your kingdom come.

And may your will be done, on earth for us this morning, just as it is being done in the heavenly realms at this moment.

Father, please give us today our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And do not bring us into the snares and traps that the evil one will lay down before us today; rather, give us eyes to see those things, and also the way of escape from the satan’s temptations that you will always make available to us, by the leading and power of the Holy Spirit.

We speak all these things to you, in Jesus’ name.

Yes, and very amen.
