Nothing

A challenging, explore-your-belief question.

Reading an interaction between a couple of very old people, Abram and Sarah, and angels of Yahweh, and Yahweh himself. They’ve been told she’ll have a baby. To be fair, I mean, hard to believe for a woman around 100 years old. But then, this question from Yahweh himself:

“Is anything impossible for Yahweh?”

Which reminded me that I’d seen that thought before.

Luke 1:34-37  Mary asked the angel, “How can this be, since I have not had sexual relations with a man?”

35 The angel replied to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 And consider your relative Elizabeth—even she has conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called childless. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.

And again,

Jeremiah 32:17  Oh, Lord God! You yourself made the heavens and earth by your great power and with your outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for you!

And again,

Matthew 19:25-26  When the disciples heard this, they were utterly astonished and asked, “Then who can be saved?”

26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Which leaves me to reckon with this truth today, which is such good news.
Nothing is impossible with God.

Nothing.

Will we believe this?
