So It’s Election Day

Here’s what I know for certain…

“For everything was created by King Jesus,
in heaven and on earth,
the visible and the invisible,
whether thrones or dominions
or rulers or authorities—
all things have been created through him and for him.
He is before all things,
and by him all things hold together.”
(Col 1:16-17)

That same Jesus said this:

“All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.”
(Mt 28:18)

And this is what is true and will be true one day in all our futures:

“For this reason God highly exalted him
and gave him the name
that is above every name,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee will bow—
in heaven and on earth
and under the earth—
and every tongue will confess
that Jesus the Messiah is MASTER,
to the glory of God the Father.”
(Philip 2:9-11)

The consistent theme of the Scripture is that Jesus reigns supreme, and all rulers and powers, all candidates and politicians, are subject to him, and will one day be held accountable by him.

So, as Christians, in what may be a crazy and turbulent week, we can be calm and at ease. Our King has already been enthroned, and rules supremely. Let’s rest and trust in him.
