I Have Been Declared Right

Voila_Capture168.png

I admit it.

I tried to lure you in with that title, because I wanted you to hear what I heard from the Apostle Paul today. Namely, that by God's grace, as a free gift, I have been declared right, with God.

In spite of my sin, declared right with God.

In spite of my weak faith, declared right with God.

Through no work of my own, declared right with God.

So that I may not boast, declared right with God.

Though I deserved wrath, declared right with God.

Passing over former sins, declared right with God.

Set free from guilt, declared right with God.

My forgiveness secured, declared right with God.

Through Christ alone, declared right with God.

That I may rejoice, declared right with God.

So thankful today, for I have been declared right with God!

My friend, soak on and in this today:

For there is no distinction:
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified [declared right] by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.
This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Then what becomes of our boasting?
It is excluded.
By what kind of law? By a law of works?
No, but by the law of faith.
For we hold that one is justified [declared right] by faith apart from works of the law.
(Romans 3:22b-28, English Standard Version)
